7:30 a.m. Opening Ceremony Starts Gospel singer Clifton
Ross III will lead us in the National Anthem, and then
emcees Alison Starling and Leon Harris of WJLA – ABC7 will take
the stage. The Howard Gospel Choir will serenade the survivors for the Parade of Pink and Nancy G. Brinker, founder of Susan G.
Komen for the Cure®, will give the keynote address.
Maureen
McClain of WASH-FM and will also be on hand to congratulate
our fundraisers for all of their hard work. New Balance’s Holly Perkins will be
assisted by Team WWE superstars Layla and Alicia in leading the crowd
in warm-up stretches before the big race.

Washington Redskins’ wide receiver Josh Morgan will be speaking about his connection to
breast cancer at the Opening Ceremony. Join him on Race Day as part of his team.
Team Morgan team members will be able to have a meet & greet with him
after the Race, and the top fundraiser on Team Morgan will accompany him to
the “eve of race” event on Wednesday, May 8. (The top fundraiser on his team
will be chosen at 11:59 pm on May 6.) Register today to join Team Morgan.

by Bob Madigan of WTOP. At the festival, get ready to dance with Charizma DJs and sing along with country singer Colby Dee. We will also have:

10:00 a.m. Kids for the Cure Race Registered Kids
for the Cure® can participate in fun
activities and crafts just for kids, before and after the Kids for the Cure® Race. The cost for each kid
is $25, which includes their own special T-shirt and bib. Click here to register

10:00 a.m. “Best Dressed Survivor Contest” (to
sign up, email staff@GlobalRacefortheCure.org
with your name, hometown, and outfit theme).

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
We encourage all event participants to use the METRO to travel to and from the National Mall. METRO will open early at 5:00 a.m. for the convenience of event participants. The closest METRO stops to the Komen Global Race Start Area are:

- Metro Center (Red Line)
