We’ve made incredible progress, but there is much more work to be done. While mortality rates due to breast cancer have fallen by 30% in the past two decades, the Washington, D.C. Metro Area still has one of the highest breast cancer mortality rates in the nation. This year we received close to $15 million in grant requests – far more than we can fulfill.
Komen believes that where you live should not determine whether you live. Make an impact in the Metro Area and around the world by fundraising to support local programs and global research efforts. Make sure no woman’s breast cancer goes undiagnosed and untreated.
